Our three-day tour to these remarkable gardens will take place on
Tuesday 23rd, Wednesday 24th and Thursday 25th April.
- Carefully selected private gardens created by renowned local designers
- Most gardens are surrounding former Mas or farmhouses with olive groves and
vineyards beyond. The gnarled old plane trees shade the terrace in the summer,
perspectives and topiary lead past cloud-pruned Mediterranean shrubs and holm oaks.
- The luminosity is legendary. Judas trees give a splash of colour together with
blooming iris and wisteria.
- Dominique Lafourcade, Michel Semini, Alain David Idoux and Tim Rees are the
principal influences in Provence garden design

- Three completely private gardens. Their remarkable owners will welcome us by special invitation.
- Private visit of the stunning water gardens of Château de Courances
- Full day visit to the Plant Show at Château de Saint-Jean de Beauregard, guided visit of the walled potager garden.
A most enjoyable day at the early autumn Flower, Fruit and Vegetable Show at the seventeenth century Château de Saint-Jean de Beauregard, south west of Paris. We are welcomed on arrival and shown around their remarkable two acre potager garden.
Robin Lane Fox wrote in the
Financial Times
‘Some of the heavenliest [weather] was the day of my visit to the charming flower show at the Château de Saint-Jean de Beauregard near Paris... I went as part of a brief French garden tour with French Gardens Today who took all the bother out of the planning and combined the show with three days of excellent private visiting in the region’. |

Our two-day tour will take place on Monday 23rd and Tuesday 24th September.
- The late Prince Peter Wolkonsky inspired our other garden owners to realize their own vision beside the rocky coastline and misty valleys of this unexplored region. The mild climate and acid soil offer marvellous growing conditions for a huge range of plants which are shown to spectacular effect.
- Prince Wolkonsky created at the Jardins de Kerdalo one of the finest gardens in France. It now spans two generations, resting on the skill and energy of his daughter Isabelle and her husband Timothy Vaughan.
- One completely private garden, created by an internationally admired garden designer and his wife, which was chosen by Christopher Lloyd as his most inspirational garden. Our welcome here is a real privilege.
- The Jardin du Pellinec, a masterpiece made by Gerard Jean over the last sixteen years. He has brilliantly planted rare and exotic varieties around his 17th century home to an unusual light and spacious design. This garden is only open for us this year.
- The remarkable and striking contemporary garden, Le Grand Launay, has been carved to resemble a sculpture garden – the plants pruned to create a work of art.
